This initiative aims to further the adoption of standards for synoptic cancer pathology reporting through implementation of electronic tools across Canada. The College of American Pathologists (CAP) cancer protocols were adopted as a national content standard for cancer pathology reporting in July 2009.

Implementations of synoptic surgery reporting in selected jurisdictions across Canada are currently underway. Pan-Canadian content standards for surgical reporting templates have been developed for eight disease sites and relevant clinical indicators have been identified.

College of Occupational Therapists
The College of Occupational Therapists, the UK professional body for occupational therapists, has developed a number of occupational therapy subset standards in collaboration with its members which should be used for all service user care records, whether they are stored digitally or on paper. All the subsets are specified using SNOMED CT, and are aimed at supporting Occupational Therapy practice in the UK, within systems supporting clinical practice.
