Abstract submissions for oral presentations and e-posters are invited by
Friday April 30, 2021, and the early bird gets the prize as we want to reward those of you who submit your abstracts early!
We will be doing a weekly random draw from the abstracts received by that date for a small prize. Draws will be made each Friday at 17:00 Portugal/UK time between now and April 30.
All Expo presentations and e-posters must be focused on SNOMED CT and should present the use of SNOMED CT in a product or service, rather than promoting the product or service itself. Presentations should enable attendees to enhance their knowledge of SNOMED CT and be aligned with one of three program streams:
Demonstrating Implementation Excellence:
Presentations exploring practical demonstrations SNOMED CT. Implementers from healthcare organizations, government agencies and industry will share their lessons learned, outcomes and benefit realization achievements.
Enhancing Clinical Practice and Outcomes:
Presentations focused on the application of SNOMED CT in clinical settings and clinical research; aimed at enhancing the patient or citizen experience, clinical outcomes, reducing costs or improving efficiency. This may include such areas as precision medicine, data analytics, decision support etc.
Terminology Leading Practices:
Presentations covering experience and ideas on innovative enhancements of SNOMED CT, as well as those in conjunction with other international standards, e.g., content development, mappings, description logic.
Oral presentations are 30 minutes in length (including time for audience questions). In person presentations are preferred, but there are a limited number of virtual presentation slots available. E-Posters must be prepared using a supplied template. In person attendance at the Expo is preferred, but not required
Presenters will be notified of the outcome of their submission by
June 4, 2021
Any decisions that SNOMED International makes regarding the in-person or virtual nature of the SNOMED CT Expo 2021 will be immediately communicated to potential speakers and the Community of Practice.
