Poland

The e-Health Centre (Centrum e-Zdrowia) has the overall responsibility for providing interoperability in Poland. The e-Health Centrecreates digital services and solutions that support the work of medical professionals and facilitate the management of health matters for citizens.

The implementation of SNOMED CT in Poland will be carried out in cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the eHealth Centre, which is a state budgetary unit, subordinate to the Minister of Health, responsible for healthcare information systems. 


The main object of e-Health Centre’s activity is to carry out tasks in the field of building information society, including health care, and to support management decisions of the Ministry of Health based on the conducted analyses. The e-Health Centre is responsible for monitoring the planned, developed and operated ICT systems at central and regional levels.


The e-Health Centre runs the SNOMED CT National Release Centre, and is responsible for maintaining and distributing the Polish version of SNOMED CT.
