This session is a look into leveraging syndication services to deploy terminology assets at scale with minimal effort. Our presentation explores the use of the SNOMEDCT syndication standard as implemented by our cloud terminology management environment TermHub to deploy a variety of code systems, value sets and concept maps to a FHIR terminology server. We will demonstrate how using a content provider service in conjunction with syndication technology can support nearly frictionless deployment of terminologies a dockerized FHIR server with only a few minutes of effort.
Description
For this presentation the SNOMEDCT US edition along with ICD10 and ICD10CM maps will be used alongside a variety of other terminologies used in the USCDI standard. We will additionally present the SNOMED Terminology Server Syndication Standard and some concepts from HL7 FHIR R4 terminology services, including CodeSystem, ValueSet, and ConceptMap resources. Finally, we provide the user a self-guided opportunity to replicate exactly the process shown in the presentation.
Scope
SNOMEDCT was selected due to its global importance as a standard healthcare terminology coding system for capture of patient interactions in electronic healthcare systems.
How SNOMED CT will be used
SNOMEDCT International and US edition content and derivatives are used to demonstrate how the SNOMED Terminology Server Syndication Standard can be used to automatically deploy terminology content to a FHIR terminology server that implements the SNOMED on FHIR specification.
