Description
To provide decision support for primary care practitioners. The application will assign SNOMED CT codes to entered patient data which in turn will trigger decision support information. The research completed for this initiative is being conducted in Quebec with intended use across North America.
Scope
The tool will support general practitioners by providing them with information on common diseases related to data entered by a physician.
How SNOMED CT will be used
To code data entered by a physician to reduce ambiguity of recognition of data patterns. Synonyms will be coded with the same SNOMED CT concept.
Why SNOMED CT will be used
The terminology is comprehensive and the leading choice.
