There are now two case studies for Rotherham, the original and a retrospective after 5 years post implementation.

Location: Rotherham, United Kingdom
Description
Across all the hospital, all out-patient departments.
Scope
All diagnosis and procedures are captured by clinical staff as part of the patient encounter. These are then mapped to OPCS-4 (the UK procedure classification) for national reporting.
How SNOMED CT will be used
This is the terminology adopted within the UK, but also it was felt this would enable them to have better information on the activity undertaken within out-patients. It was also planned to have efficiency gains in the production of national reports.
