Clinical documentation
Creation of a surgical procedure reference set based on SNOMED CT-AU.
Location: Australia
Description
Australia and New Zealand: all members of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons; Fellows, trainee surgeons and surgeons undertaking the international medical graduate program. Also junior doctors participating in the College's JDocs program.
Scope
SNOMED CT-AU is the basis of the operative procedure list available in the MALT system.
We have refined the procedures available in SNOMED to extract only those that are surgical in nature and implemented this reference set in a custom hierarchy that MALT accesses via a terminology server. The procedures logged can be reported on using Qlik reports that harness the power of the SNOMED hierarchy.
