Technical Implementation Support Specialist

Position Summary: This role provides advice, assistance and training  to national, regional and local implementations of SNOMED CT, with respect to their terminology systems architecture, technical solutions, tooling and related implementation artifacts. This role will also assist in the development of generalised technical implementation resources, frameworks, templates, guidelines, specifications and tools to support SNOMED CT implementation activities in a range of different clinical domains.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Lead and assist in workshops with customers to:
    • Understand their current eHealth systems architecture, goals and objectives;
    • Explain technical considerations, solution options and available tools and resources;
    • Propose system architecture designs and tooling solutions to meet customers’ needs;
    • Provide tooling training, support and setup assistance
  • Assist customers with the development of their SNOMED CT technical solutions roadmap, systems architecture and tooling use
  • Assist customers with their SNOMED CT terminology server deployment
  • Provide verbal and written answers to customer questions
  • Develop advice, guidance and/or user documentation on specific technical implementation topics or tools
  • Develop generalised implementation resources, frameworks, templates, technical guidelines and specifications
  • Chair and/or assist in coordinating user groups, project groups, workshops, presentations  and other meetings
  • Work both independently and collaboratively, in support of a single team vision
  • Be customer focused and an active listener, with the ability to ask appropriate questions to accurately understand customer requirements
  • Have a positive, delivery-focused attitude with a strong work ethic. Should be happy to take on any task to get the job done (from designing an eHealth strategy to booking your own flights and taking meeting minutes)
  • Must be willing to work from home, attend meetings outside normal business hours, and travel internationally (when safe to do so) 
Experience: 
  • Knowledge and experience with technical eHealth standards (e.g.  HL7 FHIR), system architectures, solutions and tools
  • Solid knowledge of SNOMED CT design,  specifications and implementation approaches
  • Knowledge and experience in requirements analysis and design of clinical systems
  • An awareness of the broader eHealth standards and systems landscape
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Other desired skills/experience:
  • Significant experience in the implementation of eHealth standards in clinical systems using best practice approaches
  • Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders, including some or all of the following: National Release Centers, vendors, clinicians, technical staff, data analysts, researchers, healthcare administration and senior government representatives.
