January 2018 SNOMED CT International Edition Release Available
The Production release of the January 2018 SNOMED CT® International Edition is now available to everyone from the MLDS distribution site. As with all releases, a rigorous quality assurance process was completed both during the authoring cycle by the content team as well as during the release period by the release team and participating Members.
This represents a considerably higher number of changes to existing content from July’s release of 15,993 to 21,080. While volume is not the only indicator with which we measure success, it does demonstrate the scale of effort invested from SNOMED International’s content and technical teams. Additional content means considerably more time needed to do quality validation, as well as increased risk of possible issues requiring mitigation.
All files distributed for the January 2018 International Edition are available from the “January 2018 v1.0” version in the “SNOMED CT International Edition” project, which can be found on the “IHTSDO Releases” page in MLDS, accessed here:
The SNOMED CT International Edition contains SNOMED CT files in Release Format 2 (RF2) only, distributed in a zipped file archive:
The Release Notes and OWL Resource file have been separated from the International Edition release package, and can be downloaded as distinct files from the same MLDS release version:
